Preventative Exams with our Scarsdale Veterinarian

At Central Animal Hospital, our Scarsdale veterinarian always considers your pet’s health and wellness as a top priority. If you’ve been looking for a veterinary team you can trust with all your dog’s or cat’s health and wellness needs, you’ve come to the right place. Our full-service animal hospital offers an extensive range of services, including routine wellness exams, spay and neuter surgery, flea/tick prevention, and other preventative services to suit your pet’s needs.

What to Expect From Your Pet’s Veterinary Exam

We strongly encourage all pet owners to bring their dog or cat in for a comprehensive health and wellness exam at least once a year. These exams are key to not only establishing a “baseline” for your pet’s health, but to help us spot any potentially problematic changes in your pet’s health that could signify a medical condition or other problem. These exams also give you a great opportunity to ask our vet team any questions you may have about your pet’s health, wellness, and nutrition, or behavior.

All of our health and wellness exams are comprehensive in nature, so we will take a thorough look at everything from your pet’s size and weight to his or her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Our veterinarian will also carefully assess your pet’s breathing and lung function, as well as the heart rate. If needed, we can also perform any diagnostic exams or testing in our office (with your permission, of course).

Additional Health and Wellness Services for Your Cat or Dog

In addition to our annual health and wellness exams, we offer numerous other preventative pet care services to help your pet lead the healthiest life possible. For starters, has your pet been spayed or neutered? If not, then we can perform this surgery in our office; having your pet spayed or neutered will prevent unwanted litters and also benefit your pet’s reproductive health. Furthermore, many pet owners notice that pets who have been spayed or neutered are generally better behaved and less likely to run away from home.

Is your pet on a flea, tick, and parasite preventative? If not, allow our veterinary team to make a recommendation based on your pet’s lifestyle and unique needs. These medications are ideal for protecting your pet from dangerous fleas, ticks, and parasites all year round. We also offer pet dental care, vaccinations, and everything in between.
